Our private tours

If you want to explore Bucharest with an exclusive English-speaking guide just for you and your group, why not book one of our private tours? These eight-hour walking tours can be tailored to your needs and preferences. Have a look at our suggested itineraries below:

Tour of Bucharest

After being picked up from your hotel, you'll begin your guided walking tour of Bucharest, getting to know the incredible cultural heritage of the Romanian capital. Visit the Dimitrie Gusti National Village Museum, an ethnographic museum that is home to over 270 authentic Romanian peasant houses and farms which showcase the country's rural life. You'll also see the Romanian Orthodox Patriarchal Cathedral and the Romanian Athenaeum, an ornate Neo-Classical concert hall.

Explore one of the most important buildings in the city, the Romanian Parliament building. The immense building holds the title of the world's heaviest building, amongst other records - admire its imposing architecture as you hear all about the history of Bucharest. You'll also stroll through the Herastrau Park, before reaching the Arcul de Triumf, the city's triumphal arch. This tour follows a similar route to our regular guided tour of Bucharest.

Tour of Communist Bucharest

If you're interested in learning about the Communist era in the Romanian capital, this is the tour for you. While your expert English-speaking guide explains the history of Ceausescu's dictatorship and reveals the myths and legends of Communism in Romania, you'll explore the landmarks left over from these dark years throughout the city. You'll see Constitution Square and the enormous Romanian Parliament building, also known as the Palace of Parliament, constructed under the orders of the dictator.

Wander through Revolution Square, the site of the dictator's most popular speech in 1968, and of the speech he made in 1989 which resulted in revolt against him. Discover Ceausescu's former residence, where you can see how he and his family lived. You'll also visit the memorial dedicated to the victims of the Romanian Revolution, and see the iconic InterContinental Hotel.

Hotel pick up

Your tour guide can either pick you up from your hotel in Bucharest (provided it is central), or you can meet them in another preferred location in the city centre. Please bear in mind that if you start your tour from your hotel, this will be included in the total tour time, so you sightseeing time will be reduced.

Important information

If the Romanian Parliament building is closed, you will instead visit the Cotroceni Palace, the official residence of the President of Romania.
