Discover beautiful Targoviste, and learn all about its important medieval history, when you take our fantastic trip. Besides the city's most important buildings, you will also visit the fascinating Museum of Communism.
We will pick you up at your hotel in Bucharest at 9:30 a.m. and head northwest to the beautiful city of Targoviste. Located on the right bank of the Lalomita river, this was the capital of Romania's region, and the country's Royal Court, during the medieval ages.
There, we will visit the complex of buildings that served as the royal residence during the Middle Ages. We will also see other famous monuments in the city, such as Chindia Tower, the iconic symbol of Targoviste which was built under the order of Vlad the Impaler.
Next, we head to the Museum of Communism, where you will find an exhibition dedicated to the trial and assassination of Nicolae Ceaușescu and his wife in 1989. After this, you will have an hour and a half of your own free time to try some delicious food or continue exploring Targoviste.
When our visit to Targoviste has concluded, we will return to Bucharest, arriving at around 5:30 pm.
